Veils and Beyond's First Wedding Expo Experience

Veils and Beyond joined the Kasalang Filipino 2011 (6th Philippine Wedding & Tourism Fair Road Show) Weddings Across SOCSKSARGEN last February 24-26, 2011 at Gaisano Atrium, with Digital Pixtures as our booth-partner.

We didn't really have any idea about the exhibit... thanks to my highschool batchmate, Paul of Digital Pixtures who asked me if we would like to partner with them (them being one of the sponsors, so we get to join for free)... I said yes right away and so began our journey to our first ever wedding expo.

Despite going through some not-so-good-experiences, it was a truly good start for us as a team and we really are thankful we were given the chance to be there and reached out to a number of prospects. Here are some of the photos taken of the booth.

This is the main display of the booth. Thanks Erwin B. for the table skirtings.

This was the favor display table and those were our leaflets and business cards. We actually ran out of them on the first day.
                                          The LCD Monitor was Weng's... Thanks,ging. ;)

We promise, next year's exhibit will be grand! See you all! ;-)

We are officially registered!

Pistachio Green & Pink Possies

When I told my bestfriend that I was getting married and I'd like my motiff to be pistachio green and pink possies, she stared hard at me for awhile as if I'd just spoken in Greek. Then she asked, "Are those colors in the color wheel?"... We had such a good laugh.

We were then too accustomed to the traditional type of having one color for a wedding motiff and it was only when my fiance and I planned to tie the knot that I realized there are many ways to pull off an amazing wedding--- starting with the color motiff.

However, since this is the Philippines and Pistachio nut isn't really popular in this side of the world, it was so difficult to find the right fabric and color at the same time,so in the end, our wedding ended up with several shades of green and pink. The closest to the pistachio green we were able to come up were the  flower girls satin, sleeveless dresses with fuchsia pink satin belt. The bridesmaids wore cocktail dresses and pink roses to match.

My wedding worked around a garden theme. My sisters-in-law made flower carts and small flower bouquets as giveaways. My friends gifted me with a three layer cake in green fondant accented with gorgeous pink edible roses.

Among all the things that I love about my wedding was the photography by my talented friends. There were so many candid shots which I really liked because it captured everything that went about during that one momentous day. Everytime I turn the pages of my wedding album three years after, I can still feel the wonderful feeling of being loved and surrounded by supportive and loving family and friends.

Travel Themed Wedding

Sandy loves to travel. She was our group's travel expert (spelled as: booking officer/travel guide/itinerary composer). She and her then fiance, Elmer lived and worked apart for awhile so when they started making plans to wed, Sandy already had in mind the perfect theme for their "Vow" day. --- a TRAVEL themed wedding!

And since blue is her favorite color, we incorporated it to the theme she had in mind and added green to represent land, sky, and water.

The souvenirs were travel pillows and bag tags. The cake design was that of a globe on top of two luggage bags, with a bride and groom topper sitting on them. The table toppers were names of places that the couple had visited either alone or together. The bridesmaids in their blue tube-knee length-dresses were made to wear green scarves of light fabric. The invites contained travel-related terms instead of the usual words, such that guests would feel they really were on a trip. We even made meal tickets looked like bus tickets to conform with the theme.

It was one-helluva ride during the wedding preparations, but we know we would do it again in a heartbeat because it was for one amazing jetsetter bestfriend, and BRIDE!

A Fantasy-Themed Wedding

Beth wanted to have butterflies and pink for her January 4, 2010 wedding... So we decided a FANTASY themed wedding was the best for her.

We had pink accents all over her invites, cake, souvenirs, flowers and her bridesmaids' gowns. We thought Silver was the perfect addition to the concept so we had silver belts for the bridesmaids' outfit and silver ribbon to accentuate her invitation boxes. Her entourage included 3 DAMAs in lieu of a Maid of Honor and little fairies with butterfly wings instead of the usual flower girls to make it a whole lot more magical.

The reception hall was adorned with butterflies, flowery vines, pink ribbons, chimes, and more butterflies to make it look like everyone is in Etheria. We had magical/fantasy names for table toppers. It was made out of pink and silver prints & dusts.

It was pure fantasy organizing the wedding. Despite sleep deprivation & exhaustion, we had the best time ever, knowing that what we were doing was for one exceptionally wonderful friend and BRIDE! ;)

Themed Wedding Invitations

Wedding invites are your guests' first glance and feel to your big day. It gives them an idea of what to expect, what to wear, or even what to give you. Long were the days when invites served as announcement of the date and place of the wedding. So, whether you are on a tight budget or willing to splurge, an invitation is a thing that should be well thought of and should go with the theme you're having.

Here are some of our invitations for themed weddings:
